Blackbird Filmworks, LLC is a Virginia based Production Company founded in 2006 by friends Robert Kelshian and Andrew Carnwath.  Blackbird's Mission is to produce and distribute an eclectic variety of motion pictures and tell them in unique and unconventional ways.

In 2006, Blackbird Filmworks focus is to produce our feature film “Bloodscout”, a quirky tale about a down and out single dad over coming self-doubt, ridicule and a lot of zombies. Our goal with Bloodscout is to develop a distinctive brand of storytelling and filmmaking that mixes offbeat comedy with slapstick horror. Ideally, Bloodscout will function as the cornerstone to building our film company.  This will be accomplished by creating strong bonds with investors, producers and film crew and establishing an environment that nurtures dedication and creativity.  We also believe that utilizing the talents of Virginia’s film professionals, vendors and resources helps create a community effort that unites all aspects of production.

Blackbird Filmworks wants to start a foundation for something that will build on itself for years to come.  Not just another film company that settles for the safe zone but a company that strives to push boundaries and open doors.

With the help of our community, local professionals and investors, Blackbird Filmworks, LLC will give Los Angeles and New York a run for their money.  Start small, think big, work hard – these are the concepts behind Blackbird Filmworks, LLC.
